UPDATE! Our 2026 trips are now available for pre-sale; see the list below! We’ve seen strong demand in the last couple of years, so now is a great time to grab a spot on a 2026 trip. If you book a 2026 “pre-sale” trip, no deposits will be run until you approve the final dates and prices which should be confirmed ten months to a year before the trip dates. The 2025 lineup kicks off with the Shikoku Temple Trek, scheduled for cherry blossom season in late March/early April. The reboot of our Hiking in Bulgaria trip is scheduled for this coming June. It will be followed by the New Hikes in the Dolomites trip focusing on more “off-the-beaten-path” areas in this magnificent mountain range. Our classic Best Hikes in the Dolomites trip is on for this September as is the Hiking the Spanish Pyrenees trip. And finally, we’re excited to be returning to the mountains on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido in the second half of September.

More Destinations

Over the years, Mountain Hiking Holidays has developed and operated trips to a variety of destinations either as scheduled departures or custom-designed itineraries for groups. Not all the trips that we’ve developed are offered every year. Mountain Fun Fact

The Grossglockner is Austria’s highest peak and the highest peak in the Alps east of the Brenner Pass. Its name derives from the German gross (“big”) and glockner which may be a derivation of the word glocke (“bell”). The resulting, “Big Bell,” is descriptive of the mountain’s shape especially when viewed from the Kals Valley to the south. Experience this mountain on our Alps of Austria hiking trip.
